CASTING FEMALE FOR FEATURE

WRIGHT/LAIRD CASTING is looking for a 15-20 year old Missouri actress for the principal role in the feature film Winter’s Bone, based on the novel by Daniel Woodrell. The story is about 16 year-old Ree Dolly growing up in the Ozarks. Aided by her best friend Gail, Ree faces many burdens and obstacles placed onto her by her family. A scrappy survivor, Ree’s deep knowledge and affection for her rural Ozark roots will ensure she prevails in the face of challenge. Why a Missouri actress? Director Debra Granik said a Missouri actress would bring the story to life. “We are seeking to be inspired by those who have roots here and real-life experiences of what it's like to live and grow up here.” Visit wrightlairdcasting.com to learn more about the film and a chance to star in this production. Submission deadline is March 23, 2007.
